Girl Drama: The Powerpoint


Slide #1: Cast of Characters
  • 60 year old, semi-clueless mom
  • 12.5 year old daughter
  • Friends between the ages of 12-14...most likely going through puberty (just a guess)
Slide #2:   Situation Analysis
  • Misunderstanding among girlfriends
  • Boy classmate spreading a rumor (not dirty, just mean)
  • Wonderful daughter accused of complicity and of trying to "steal" another girl's friends
  • Upset child in tears

  • Get daughter's emotions under control
    • Use soothing tones of parental understanding and support
  • Redirect focus on to homework assignment
    • Assist daughter in the art of powerpoint
    • Stay patient as this is child's first time using powerpoint
    • Acknowledge parental deficiency with powerpoint
